Interested in becoming a court appointed special advocate? Attend one of our virtual information sessions to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of CASAs, the application and training process, and ask questions of CASA experts. Email for the Zoom link.

- Calling all men! Join us for a casual evening of food and conversation to learn more about what it means to be a Court Appointed Special Advocate for a boy or young man in our community.

Volunteer Training
CASA training classes are offered four times a year—February, May, September, and November. A class normally consists of approximately 30 hours which includes class work, observation of court hearings, and at-home reading. Classes in 2023 are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 8:30 pm

November 7 - December 5 (No class on Nov. 23)
Sessions are fun and interactive, and you will learn everything you need to know to get started as a CASA Volunteer. Upon successful completion of the CASA training, you will be sworn in by a family court judge in a special ceremony.
Our training curriculum includes:

- Introducing the Law, the Child Protection System, and the Courts
- Developing Cultural Competence
- Understanding Families
- Understanding Children
- Communicating as a CASA
- Practicing the CASA Volunteer Role – Gathering Information
- Practicing the CASA Volunteer Role – Reporting & Monitoring
- Pulling it All Together
