Volunteer Training

CASA training classes are offered four times a year—February, May, September, and November. A class normally consists of approximately 30 hours of class work, observation of court hearings, and at-home work. Classes in 2022 are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5-8 p.m.:

  • February 1-24
  • May 3-26
  • September 6-29
  • November 1-29 (No class on Nov. 24)

Sessions are fun and interactive, and you will learn everything you need to know to get started as a CASA Volunteer. Upon successful completion of the CASA training, you will be sworn in by a family court judge in a special ceremony.

 Our training curriculum includes:

  • Introducing the CASA Role
  • Introducing the Law, the Child Protection System, and the Courts
  • Developing Cultural Competence

  • Understanding Children
  • Communicating as a CASA
