Volunteer Appreciation Dinner 2024

So far in fiscal year 2024, 98 CASAs have advocated for 163 children. This is an amazing impact – one that is only possible with the generosity and dedication of our essential volunteer workforce. We love our volunteers, so we value every opportunity to express our appreciation for the gift of their time!
This year, the staff once again recognized volunteers with a special dinner event. We chose a puzzle piece theme to reflect the idea that CASA volunteers are an essential piece in the puzzle of a child’s life. In the spirit of this theme, each volunteer received a special puzzle piece magnet as a keepsake. Volunteers also received free tickets for a raffle to win fun gift baskets created by CASA staff members.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious pizza dinner, followed by an ice cream sundae bar for dessert. During the event, volunteers were recognized for their years of service. Program Manager Kari Frederick shared, “Our volunteers are making a huge impact for children in Kent County. It’s a top priority for me to find ways to show them how appreciated they are each year. We care about our volunteers and are so grateful for their hard work!”
It was an awesome evening connecting with volunteers and their guests. Thank you, volunteers, for joining us, and for your dedication to CASA’s mission!

For Heart of CASA, the annual fundraising dinner and award ceremony, the CASA team decided to take the opportunity of having the CASA community gathered to feature some of the Humans of CASA – in person. Thus, this year’s theme was born: Meet the humans. Feel the heart.
A month or so ago, I was reminded in the sweetest way of how lasting a CASA’s impact can be. While I was meeting with a prospective board member at a local coffee shop, a woman approached me and said, “We’ve never met, but my son, Peter, remembers you. He had a CASA — Miss Cindy.”
Hope is not a strategy—or so I’ve been told more than once.
