Drugs 101

This lecture provides an overview of commonly used substances (i.e. drugs) within the West Michigan community as well as new and emerging substances in the national market. The lecture will describe historic and modern trends of substance use, bust common myths, and discuss ways to address the drug epidemic through harm reduction and evidence-based medicine. Upon completion, learners will be provided and trained on naloxone (Narcan) administration and be empowered to respond to the opioid crisis in their communities.
