CASA of Kent County empowers community members to advocate for abused and neglected children by being their voice in family court. CASA volunteers provide dedicated best-interest advocacy for vulnerable children as they navigate the unfamiliar road of foster care.

Student artists set the tone.

CASA of Kent County is excited to partner with local teachers from Catholic Central High School to feature student artwork and musical performances! Several high school students have interpreted the theme “Home” through artwork, which will be on display throughout the Huizenga Grand Room. We’ll also hear two songs from Catholic Central’s Women’s Chorale Group. Join us on April 25 to witness the theme “Home” coming to life.

What is the CASA luncheon?

Each spring, CASA of Kent County holds its annual luncheon event. This event is an opportunity for donors, volunteers, CASA stakeholders, and interested community members to gather to learn more about and support CASA’s mission of child advocacy. Guests can expect to hear from speakers closely involved in CASA’s work, such as current or former volunteers or a judge from the 17th Circuit Family Division.

Past Events

The 2024 annual luncheon was CASA’s largest event to-date, with 345 guests gathering to learn more and support child advocacy. During the program, guests heard from the Honorable Patricia Gardner, who emphasized the importance of shedding light on child advocacy. She even graced the audience with a brief yet moving rendition of “Tomorrow” from the musical Annie. Next, CASA volunteer Jessi Manning took the stage to share how, in her role as an advocate, she is essentially “working herself out of a job” as her CASA child prepares to be reunified with her mother. The program concluded with the story of six siblings who are on the waiting list to be assigned a CASA volunteer. Together, guests and sponsors raised over $70,000 to support CASA’s mission.
