Amanda Brader: Human of CASA

by | Nov 12, 2025 | Spotlight

Amanda Brader has been part of CASA of Kent County for just over two years, and in that time she has become a steady, encouraging presence in the office. Whether she’s sharing a funny story about her cat, Gary, or surprising the team with fresh-baked cookies, Amanda brings warmth and joy to the staff. But what truly defines her is her unwavering compassion and the way she leads with heart.

Amanda has always carried a deep desire to make a meaningful difference in the world, especially for children. “CASA’s vision of A Voice for Every Child really resonated with me,” she says. “I knew that at CASA I would directly see the impact of the work being done.” That belief is more than motivation—it is the guiding force behind every conversation she has and every volunteer she supports.

Growing up in a family blending Filipino and Irish heritage, Amanda learned early the value of honoring different perspectives, cultures, and lived experiences. That curiosity has grown into one of her greatest strengths. It allows her to approach each case—and each volunteer—with empathy first, seeking to understand rather than to judge. Her volunteers know they are seen, heard, and deeply respected. And in turn, they feel empowered to serve each child with that same compassion.

“I am so inspired by my volunteers,” Amanda shares. As an Advocate Supervisor, she doesn’t simply coordinate or oversee—she walks alongside. She invests time in understanding each volunteer’s personality, communication style, and needs. She celebrates their successes, encourages them in difficult moments, and reminds them that although this work can be heavy, they never carry it alone.

In every interaction, Amanda’s heart shows. She is a champion for her volunteers, for the children whose stories move through CASA’s doors, and for the mission that fuels the staff and volunteers. Her leadership isn’t loud or forceful—it is rooted in empathy, humility, and the quiet strength of someone who believes deeply in humanity.

Amanda finds inspiration in the dedication around her, but what she may not fully see is how much she inspires others. Through her kindness, her curiosity, and her unshakable belief in the power of people, she is a reminder of what compassionate leadership looks like—and how transformational it can be.
