Welcome Stephanie Sheler
The Board of Directors of CASA of Kent County is thrilled to welcome Stephanie Sheler as our new Executive Director! Stephanie’s first day at CASA was October 4th, and as those of you who saw her at the Heart of CASA event can attest, she has hit the ground running!
Stephanie comes to CASA with extensive experience as a classroom teacher, an agency social worker, and a leader in child-and-family focused non-profits with volunteer-based programs. She understands that the work of our volunteers and the support of our community is critical to the success of our CASA program.
Stephanie shared, “I am honored to join CASA of Kent County. After working to prevent abuse and neglect for most of my career, I’m ready to join this team of dedicated staff, volunteers, and donors who are working together to provide a voice for children in foster care.”
Stephanie and her husband Rex make their home in the Grand Rapids area, and have two sons and one daughter-in-law. One of the hidden blessings during the pandemic was that her family spent a great deal of time together eating tacos and playing Settlers of Catan. Stephanie also enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction as well as improving her Spanish-speaking skills.
