Advocate Supervisor

I joined the CASA team in 2018 as an Advocate Supervisor with a professional background in clinical social work. Bringing my front-line clinical service experiences to the realm of supervising volunteer advocates has provided me with a solid base for understanding the complex situations of the children and families in the foster care system. I enjoy collaborating with the various disciplines that intersect in the foster care system and have appreciated the opportunity to be a part of this critical work impacting our community. It has been incredible gift to watch not only how CASA’s enhance the lives of the children and families they are appointed to work with, but also how the lives of the CASA volunteers are enriched by their experiences. The dedication and compassion I have observed is extraordinary.

As a parent who has been deeply impacted by my personal experiences with a medically fragile and special needs daughter, I am especially passionate about advocating for vulnerable children and supporting their caregivers. I am active in my neighborhood association, volunteer my time with a nonprofit organization supporting caregivers, and am involved in an equity-focused political action committee. As a native of Grand Rapids, I enjoy exploring our rapidly evolving city, but also love traveling with my husband and children as often as possible.
